We finally found a good taco shop close to downtown San Diego. It's called Taco Rey and it's located on Fir between 3rd and 4th. There is plenty of parking around and it's easy to get to. The carnitas burrito is fantastic as the meat is tender, well-seasoned with a little crispyness on the outside.

burger lounge - Kensington
There's a new burger joint in San Diego with locations in Kensington and La Jolla. It's called burger lounge and resembles an upscale In-N-Out with its simple menu but offers healthier options featuring a number of organic/healthy ingredients. We tried the burgers, both beef and veggie; fries; and the malts and were really impressed with the quality of the food. The malt alone was enough for all four of us to have a try. This is definitely a place to try when you want good quality food in a nice setting at a moderate price. As an example, the burgers were $6.95. See the video below to see the scene.

San Diego Red Bull Air Races
The Red Bull Air Races and the opening of the new Children's Museum made for a crazy weekend downtown San Diego. While I wasn't able to attend the races, I did have the opportunity to attend the San Diego International Sports Council's VIP pit walk. Kim Sawyer (and team) did a great job organizing a fantastic event which included a bus ride to NAS North Island and an exclusive opportunity to hang out in the pits and speak with the pilots, all of whom were really cool. It was amazing to see the operation that Red Bull has in place. All of the pits were immaculate and the flight line air traffic control center (all of which they transport from city to city) were amazing. See my videos below.

yogotango now in San Diego
It was so hot downtown today that Meredith, Talan and I were looking for something to cool us off this afternoon. We remembered that yogotango finally opened at the
View Larger Map">corner of G and 4th Ave. yogotango is a new frozen yogurt shop that is different than other San Diego favorites like Golden Spoon. The yogurt is not as sweet and tastes more like normal, unfrozen yogurt. yogotango has several flavors and features a host of fresh fruit and other sweeter topics. Meredith and I both had the green tea flavor and agreed that yogotango is going to be a normal stop for us downtown. Check it out.

San Diego Children's Museum - Lots to Do
Hard to believe the new San Diego Children's Museum going to be ready in time for next week's opening. The playground is still a serious construction zone and the inside looks pretty bare. That said, construction workers are everywhere. Can't wait for it to open.
